A Night Out: Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in Really Red

Hi guys!!

So  this post has been sitting here for the longest waiting for me to post it. I know shame on me. But, hey at least it's here now. Ok, so I went out last friday night with one of my really good friends and I decided that I would be a little bold and rock a red lip which I have NEVER done before! So let's look at this post as a product review/ eye of the night.

I have been on the hunt for a red lipstick that would not make my lips look super huge, compliment my complexion, and was matte. I feel like a matte red or any really bold lip color is better because it doesn't give you the "I got my lips injected" look, especially if you already have full lips. Matte is a very classic look and it also provides a bit of it's own drama without going overboard. So me may prefer to add a little shine but I think it takes away from the beauty of the color. But hey, that's just my opinion .

Anywho,  the lipstick that I am wearing is Revlon's Super Lustrous Lipstick in Really Red and it is matte. Revlon describes it as "Ultra-creamy saturated lip color that delivers beautiful, lightweight, matte color without any dryness, caking, or fading." I got it from Ulta for $6.99. They had a sale buy one get one half off so of course I grabbed another color, which I will discuss in a separate post. Then on top of that, I had a certificate for $3.50 off  $10 so I basically got one for free!!!

Normally I prime my lips before putting on lipstick to prevent dryness, and provide added moisture.  Chapstick is a great alternative that is also super cheap if you are looking for a great primer. Since they say that this does not dry or cake, I decided to bypass the primer. It did go on really smooth and I only needed one maybe 2 coats. It made my lips really soft which I liked and as they stated it didn't dry out. It did however begin to fade so I found myself having to reapply a couple of times. That was the only downfall about the product. Overall I will definitely continue to use it on myself. For a client, probably not because I know that they will want something that will last for a long period of time.

That night I kept it edgy wearing all black with a twistout up do. The look came together great. I was told that I looked fierce!! LOL!

Have you tried this product? What are your thoughts? Let me know!
